The Chippewas of Georgina are a proud and progressive First Nation. Georgina has a population of 680 Chippewas, living on 1357 hectares (3354 acres), and are led by Chief Donna Big Canoe. The island's seclusion compares nicely to the hectic lifestyle on the mainland.

The McMichael Canadian Art Collection features a magnificent collection by Group of Seven, First Nations, Inuit and contemporary Canadian artists. The gallery is nestled in 100 acres of stunning woodland with nature trails, picnic areas and outdoor sculptures. The Gallery Shop featuring one-of-a-kind handcrafted items completes the authentic Canadian experience. Open year-round seven days a week, 10 am to 4 pm in winter and 10 am-5 pm in summer.

Canada's premier theme park covering 330 acres with over 200 attractions in eight themed areas, 65 thrilling rides, North America's greatest variety of roller coasters, the 20-acre Splash Works water park, and live shows. The Park is best suited for older children and teenagers. Small picnic area at the front gates, campgrounds and other accommodations close by. Eat at fast food establishments in the Park or bring your own picnic lunch. Special Events include Soap Opera Festival, Canada Day Fireworks, Victoria Day Fireworks.

Open May 7th-October 8th weekends from 10am to 8pm; and daily May 19th to September 4th daily from 10am until 10pm. One admission price covers all regular shows (except Kingswood Music Theatre), rides, and the waterpark. Admission: Adults $43; seniors over 60 $22; children 3-6 pay $22; children under 2 free.

Twenty minute drive from downtown Toronto and about an hour by public transport. Take Highway 400 from Highway 401 and exit at Rutherford Road if traveling north of Major Mackenzie if traveling south. Follow the Park signs.

York-Durham Heritage Railway

Leaving from a fully restored rail station where travelers can board the nostalgic train and enjoy the scenic ride between Uxbridge and Stouffville. The locomotives are 1950s diesel, and the various cars date back to 1919. Saturdays are reserved for special functions, Sundays are for the general public, with 2 trips a day (not wheelchair accessible). Fares: Adult $18, Senior $15 (Age 65-90, free over age 90), Youth $15 (Ages 13 to 17), Child 5 $12 (Ages 2 to 12), Family $55 (2 adults & up to 3 children (2-12 yrs).
