To rent cars from most car rental agencies in Mississauga you need major credit card, hold a valid drivers licence (the names must match), and be over 21 years old. Some agencies allow you to "cash qualify" but the paperwork is extensive and is not viable for out of town visitors (check when you make your reservation). TIP: If the person who's name is on the credit card is not the driver, then add the real driver as a second driver (there may be a small charge for that).

There are several rental agencies in the downtown area, at the airport arrivals areas, and around town.

Many agencies have "weekend specials" but reserve a few days before long weekends. July and August are the busiest months of the year--reserve your vehicle well in advance.

Pearson International Airport Rental Cars

Most major car rental agencies have locations at Pearson Airport. Pick-ups and returns are at Level 1 or the basement of Terminal 1 parking garage, or Ground level of the parking garages in Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, depending on the agency These agencies are Avis, Budget, Dollar/Thrift Canada, Hertz, and National/Alamo. Off-Airport Car Rental Agencies Off-airport car rentals are also available, which saves you paying the usual airport rental surcharges. While these agencies do not have counters located in the airport, their courtesy vans take customers to their offices outside the airport. Customers must pre-arrange for pickup. Please contact the car rental agencies for more information. The off-airport rental agencies include Discount, ACE, Enterprise, and Fox.
