Batawa Ski Hill was first started in 1955 by a dedicated group of Bata Shoe Factory employees. Today, the ski hill has evolved to three lifts and seven runs and it is still managed and operated by volunteers.

Cockaigne Ski Area is a family ski area located in western New York’s snow belt, just 18 miles from Lake Erie. With a base 1100 feet higher than the lake, it receives an average 275 inches of snowfall
