Homes: King City Neighbourhood
This 20,000 resident community is located midway between Toronto and Barrie, and accessible to highways 400, 27, 9 and 11, and is serviced by a GO Train station in King. It includes urban areas like King City, Schomberg, and Nobleton. There are lots of scenic countryside, featuring the Oak Ridges Moraine, farmland, and most notably the Holland Marsh intensive farming area. King makes up 20% of the York Region's area. Schools King is home to Seneca College, which opened a large and beautiful campus on the former Eaton estate. The University of Toronto and Humber College both also hold land in the area, and may soon open campuses of their own. Shopping Shopping is clustered in the communities of King City, Schomberg, and Nobleton Recreation Residents here have access to a museum, senior centre, three arenas and community halls and four public libraries. Recreational facilities include swimming, tennis and hockey, and the wide open spaces are home to golf courses, parks and conservation areas, and walking trails. Homes The pinnacle of homes here is the 860 acres Timothy Eaton estate, with a 40 acre lake, which is now a retreat centre owned by the Catholic Church. The communities here combine older historic homes and newer subdivisions. The area has many homes on un-serviced acreages using well water and septic systems.. Community Map
