Georgina lies on the southeastern shores of Lake Simcoe, and is an hour's drive north of Toronto. The town includes several communities including Keswick, Sutton, Jackson's Point and Pefferlaw, and smaller historical hamlets of Baldwin, Udora and Virginia. This community connects quickly to the rest of York Region via Highway 404, and is serviced by both York Region Transit and GO Transit buses to connect to the Greater Toronto Area. Lake Simcoe is popular for boating in summer, and for ice-fishing in winter. Jackson's Point has a harbour on Lake Simcoe, as well as summer theatre and live music. Sibbald Point has a very popular lakeside provincial park. Georgina has 3 ice arenas, 14 marinas, 1 indoor pool, 5 tennis courts, 8 public golf courses, and 5 private golf courses. Homes The Georgina area has become popular, and Keswick has lots of new home development, while Sutton is a modern community with the heritage charm of a timeless Upper Canadian village. The community is also home to a number of executive homes, many on acreages, with a cluster of well-designed mansions around Roches Point.
