Aurora's 45,000 residents a small-town lifestyle with a solid business infrastructure, including major facilities and head offices for 120 major companies including Quebecor Printing, Reebok Canada, Hallmark, and Magna's world headquarters. The town also has a number of 19th century heritage buildings, adding to its charm. The community is accessible to Highway 400, national rail lines, as well as serviced by York Region and GO Transit service, conveniently connecting Aurora to the Greater Toronto Area. There are two hospitals nearby, in Newmarket to the north and Richmond Hill to the south. Schools Aurora has 17 elementary schools (2 French language), and 3 high schools, and 4 private schools. Shopping Aurora has smaller stores clustered along Yonge Street, with the larger stores along Bayview Ave. Recreation The post-glacial Oak Ridges Moraine cuts through the area, and provides lots of rolling hills and natural area. The town has500 acres of parkland, a developed recreation and pedestrian trail systems, several playing fields, championship golf courses, 3 ice arenas, 9 tennis courts, 23 baseball diamonds, an indoor pool.
