In 1981 Dr. Margaret Arkinstall and Ron Stoneman organized a musical theatre group that would perform Gilbert and Sullivan productions, and first performed in the basement of the Queensville United Church to sold out houses. After a few years the productions were moved to the Greenacres auditorium in Newmarket and the Players began to present Broadway Musical shows.

In 1985 the Town of Georgina decided to build a lovely theatre, The Stephen Leacock theatre in Keswick, which has become their home. They present two major musical productions a year.
